The location is ideal for exploring 'central' Ireland. The Hotel Staff are excellent and the receptionists were extremely helpful. Our room was large and clean. Breakfasts were yummy. The road outside was busy....however, the new Motorway link is now open and the passing traffic will have disappeared. We liked our firm mattress... much better than the saggy mattresses in some hotels! Not once did we hear anyone in other rooms ...and we didn't even know there was a tv in the public rooms, so obviously not a problem.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms, comfortable and clean, (although the mattress on the bed could have been kinder-very hard).
short stay for attendance at nearby funeral, very adequate for this purpose. did not eat here
road outside is very busy, lot of traffic noise
Lovely, peaceful place to stay
Place could do with a repair
We have no complaints at all about our stay at the hotel.
the friendly staff great grub very relaxed atmophere
Even though our party of 18 arrived at 23.15 the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, after a long day food and drink was readily available and the bar was open until the small hours if required.Breakfast was charged for what you wanted I.e cereal, toast, pot of tea or coffee 4Euro with full cooked Irish 10 Euro
There is (N.O.T.H.I.N.g) about the hotel that the group did not like.
Easy to find as it is on the main road. Food was good one night.
The heating in the room was too hot and with no way to moderate it other than to open the window, where the position on the main road became a real nuisance. Other guests were complaining of this at checkout. Hotel room was really tired, paint peeling from walls and two huge cigarette burns in the over blanket right at head level. Bathroom door didn't close without a fight. Food was poor one night!
i have really enjoyed my stay there the staff were excelent and value for money was great and i hope to make a booking again soon..and hope i get the same value for money..as the location really suits me..
very good value, close to abbeyleix , clean comfortable
The hotel staff was great. Very friendly. Wonderful little village to get a good perspective of Irish life. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Bartender was friendly. Can't say enough good about this hotel. I will definitely be back. Great hotel for families.
We only stayed one night, but the food and drink was good.
The only small fault we encountered was too much heat in the bedroom, but that would be very easy to redtify.
Modern, comfortable room.
Too far from the town centre to walk at night.
staff we lovely, rooms very spacious.great value for money
the bathrooms bins had not been emptied (condom wrappers inside the weekend of our visit there was a rally event and they were wheel spinning around the carpark luck for us we could not get in the carpark but they kept our 2 year old baby awake till gone mid night and no apologies from staff
